Elliott's Bed

I wanted to make a bassinet like this one...and I did!
I intended on crocheting the basket (using raffia and rope) but serendipitously received a free one that a client donated to the birth center. Everyone was glad that "labor project" was out of the picture!

I intended on having a friend at church cut the base out of plywood, but he took the design and improved it as a gift!
He made a beautiful stand out of cherry that is collapsible for easy storage. So kind!
It also rocks smoothly.
I did make the bedding, though! From the foam of a hand-me-down crib bumper and used flannel sheets (these were my early labor/prelabor projects!).
I sewed some of my new fabrics into "sheets" for the mattress.
Snow white and the dwarves:
Russian dolls:
I like how it all turned out and so does Elliott!

LOVE IT - what a cute little model you found. I would love to come and meet him, I promise I will leave my dirty, germ infested children at home.

I hope you are healing and look forward to bikram with you soon!
